Teacher, Artist, Gallery Director . . .
I have been immersed in the arts since I was very young. Both of my parents have always been involved in the arts and crafts. I was always encouraged to be as creative as I wanted.
Ceramics came to me early. In Junior high school I worked at Shearwater Pottery in Ocean Springs MS.
After a bit of growing and maturing, I graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Architecture and landed a job at DFW International Airport. There I worked as a Designer and a Project Manager.
The airport served me well for many years but I longed for a more artistic endeavor and set my sites on an art degree.
In 2001 I earned an MFA in ceramics and an MFA in photography from Texas Woman’s University. This began my long and successful career as an art teacher at several of the local Dallas area colleges and as a studio artist.
Please take a few minutes to look through my portfolio located at the left-hand side of the screen. This is but a small selection of the artwork I have done over the years.
